Volunteer for one full day

Volunteer for one full day

A full day, not an hour. The difference is enormous on both sides.

An hour of help is mostly onboarding. A full day is when you are actually useful and when the day changes you back.

Pick an organisation you already care about, ring them, and ask which day of the year they are most short-handed.

Go alone or take one person. Any more and it becomes an outing rather than help.

How to actually do it

  1. 01Choose the organisation and call rather than email.
  2. 02Ask which day they most need bodies.
  3. 03Block the whole day, not a morning.

You already know if this is the one. Go put a date on it.

Date it in the app

Send it to whoever came to mind.
